What is a firewall?
A Firewall is a device or program that carefully monitors any traffic that passes through it, and filters out 'undesirables'. Its absolute task is to ensure that nothing dangerous or hostile enters or leaves the system it is designed to protect. For the most part, there are many ways of deploying a firewall - from packet filtering to application layer protocol checking.
InfoRelay Firewall Services
We can offer a variety of Firewall solutions for our clients. We have expert technicians whose expertise range from deploying proxy hardware devices to applying iptables rules to the specific web-accessing server. This can lead to a combined-effort solution which mixes all different methods together to create a tighter and stronger firewall for your systems. Additionally, we can offer services that allow us to monitor the status of the devices and filters to ensure that all firmware, rules, and versions are up to date. This ensures that any security vulnerabilities are patched up as soon as they are found.
EXAMPLE: Managed Firewall Service
We provision a private Cisco PIX or ASA device (depending on customer preference) for your network. We provide full management of your firewall services, adjusting firewall policies and rules based upon your requests. We perform monthly maintenance, updates to rules upon requests, and firmware updates. We also guarantee 2 hour repair or replacement of a failed firewall device. If you plan to use NAT features and also utilize redundant network connectivity (dual cross-connects), you would need to setup redundant firewalls, which effectively doubles the price. The included firewall is generally sufficient for handling traffic up to 100Mbps.

Setup $195, Monthly $245
