Server Load Balancing
Typical high-traffic websites often run into an issue in which the server receives too many requests in a short amount of time. These requests cause large amounts of load on the CPU of that machine, which if not managed properly, will cause the entire machine to respond very slowly, and eventually fail completely.

A technology known as load balancing is used to combine multiple servers into a high-powered "virtual server" to handle web requests. Load balancing systems observe the real-time load on each machine in the network, and appropriate many of the requests to the machine that is seeing the lowest level of load. This causes greater server uptime during peak access hours by minimizing load on any individual server, and may help to prevent an immediate server crash in the event of a Denial of Service attack.
F5 BIG-IP Load Balancer
InfoRelay utilizes the renowned F5 Big-IP Load Balancer to manage networking traffic. The Big-IP Load Balancer utilizes a Traffic Management Operating System, developed by F5 engineers. Additionally, it utilizes a Linux operating system for the more basic management functions that the machine requires, thus ensuring that the majority of balancer resources only goes towards directing traffic. Over the years, F5 has optimized both their hardware and software to streamline the entire process of Network Traffic Management and Application Delivery Networking.
EXAMPLE: Managed Load Balancer Service
This service allows us to distribute traffic and load to web servers or other servers (FTP, DNS, etc.) evenly. This effectively allows you to utilize multiple servers to host a single, highly trafficked site. The standard monthly fee includes up to 10Mbps of standard load balanced traffic. Additional traffic passed through the enterprise load balancing devices incurs a fee of $50/Mbps in addition to your standard bandwidth costs.

Setup $495, Monthly $495
